Only God’s name is truth
This painting is based on the Gurbani lines taken from Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The Artist has shown Guru Nanak, Mardana and Bala in the scenic painting. It is early morning time and they are shown singing the hymns.
The painting illustrates Guru Nanak’s basic belief in God. He believed that God is one and God is the truth. It was true yesterday, today and will also be tomorrow. God is omnipresent. Guru Nanak believed that the way to reach the Lord is to love human beings. He always preached and practised the basic principles of Sikhism. ‘Kirt Karna, Naam Japna and wand chakna”. ‘The person must work honestly, always keep God’s name in his heart and must share his earnings with the needy’. Nanak says only God’s name is truth and everything else is useless babbling and idle talk in ego.
